Gadigal and Dhunghutti researcher, writer and educator Cameron Davison will facilitate conversations with knowledge holders, educators and heritage protectors from Eora around the language and six distinct annual seasons recognised by the Gadigal People. This dialogue will inform Davison’s ongoing and collaborative research into the reclamation of this knowledge and the languages of the Eora.
Davison is recognised for his work in the reawakening of the Gadigal language. Drawing from his upbringing and his professional experience in environmental conservation, bush foods and the protection of Sydney’s cultural heritage, he engages in research, educational workshops and collaborations dedicated to the reclamation and advancement of the Gadigal language.
Davison has been a Gadigal language advisor on projects with the University of Sydney, artist Jazz Money and Sydney Health and Research Centre and provided input on language, heritage, and environmental conservation for The Future of Sydney CBD report and Redfern North Eveleigh precinct renewal.
