Annie Handmer

Social theorist of space science and STS communicator Annie Handmer will present a series of interviews with the team at the Sydney Observatory offering a behind the scenes exploration into objects from the collection and stories within the building.

Handmer is a PhD Candidate at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Science, in the School of History and Philosophy of Science. Her research focuses on science and technology studies and the sociology of science in extreme environments. She is the host and creator of the Space Junk Podcast and has been a guest on numerous other podcasts including the Sydney Morning Herald’s Please Explain, STEMPunk and Dr Karl’s Shirtloads of Science and has appeared on SBS Television’s The Feed.
