The Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) is the peak national organisation representing the Australian communication design industry. With more than 3,000 members distributed throughout the creative, visual communications, applied design and technology sectors, AGDA is dedicated to advancing the profession through an interrelated program of state, national and international activities in education, advocacy and professional development.
It aims to support and connect designers of all persuasions, from around the globe, bringing their stories to the fore, to enable others like them to find a role model or mentor.
AGDA is a non-for-profit community that was founded in June 1988 by five dedicated Melbourne-based designers. Fifty designers from across Australia marched into history when they joined together on stage at the Mildura Conference to symbolise their solidarity and commitment to its formation.
