Discover how to successfully use ‘Visible Thinking Strategies’ for your programs or engagements with individual visitors or school groups, to create an interactive and long-lasting learning experience.
This workshop, led by Powerhouse Education and Digital Learning Manager Peter Mahony, will include in-class and on-site exhibition group learning activities.
Peter has led the Powerhouse education and digital learning team for 26 years. Each year, his team engages hundreds of school groups in onsite and offsite learning.
To scaffold learning within the museum context, the education team are encouraged to implement ‘Visible Thinking Strategies’, a system developed across a number of research projects by Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education Project Zero.
This event is designed for staff and volunteers working in smaller museums and the collecting sector. The session will conclude with a 1-hour tour, led by a museum registrar, of one of our storage areas. Bookings essential, a light lunch is included.
