Join Powerhouse photographer Ryan Hernandez for a hands-on workshop demonstrating basic techniques that can be used to photograph objects on a budget with great results.
Have you ever wondered what type of lighting or background is best? Should you include a scale reference or use a mobile phone to document objects? Can you photograph objects for documentation and social media at the same time? If you have asked yourself any of these questions, then this workshop is for you.
The workshop will focus on the use of mobile phone cameras to take images of Museum objects, and briefly touch on the use of small SLR cameras. Please bring your mobile phone camera you normally use for practical exercises.
This event is designed for staff and volunteers working in smaller museums and the collecting sector. The session will conclude with a 1-hour tour, led by a museum registrar, of one of our storage areas. Bookings essential, a light lunch is included.
