This one-day workshop is specifically designed for staff and volunteers of small museums, the collecting sector and interested members of the public. The workshop will look at key archival practices: appraisal and disposal; arrangement and description; preservation, storage and access – and how they are implemented in a museum environment. A light lunch is included in ticket.
MAAS Archivist Paul Wilson will lead the workshop. Paul has qualifications in History, Archives Administration and Preservation Administration from Australian and American universities. He has been a professional archivist for over 30 years and has worked in the private, university and government sectors. Paul taught archives management and preservation administration at the University of NSW and the University of Texas at Austin.
