The Powerhouse Ultimo is located at 500 Harris St, Ultimo and is close to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Central Station (Sydney Terminal), Broadway bus station (Railway Square), and Exhibition Centre Sydney Light Rail Station. From 1 June 2020, entry is via Harris St only.
The Goods Line provides an accessible pedestrian route from Central Station, past the iconic Dr Chau Chak Wing Building designed by Frank Gehry. The Goods Line is a 500m walk along flat terrain starting from the Devonshire Street Tunnel at Central Station’s Southern Concourse.
The 501 bus stops directly outside the Museum.
Please note there are currently hoardings in place along the Harris St façade to allow for investigative works to be carried out safely. These have no impact on pedestrian or museum access.

There is limited metered street parking near the museum, located on Harris St, Macarthur St and adjacent streets.
Wilson Parking 179 Thomas Street, Haymarket (adjacent to Novotel Sydney Central). Discounted parking is obtained by ticket upon entry to the carpark – not available via online bookings. Parking tickets must be validated at the designated machines in the box office area of Powerhouse Ultimo (level 3) before returning to the car park. Note: Discount does not apply to the nearby Wilson Parking station at 187 Thomas Street.

Food and Café
Mrs & George have taken residence at the Powerhouse Café. Their fresh, healthy and delicious menu spans breakfast, morning tea and lunch with dine in or grab-and-go options for all ages. The Powerhouse Café is located on Level 3, next to the entrance and is the perfect start or end to your day at the Powerhouse. Click here to view their menu.

We aim to provide venues, exhibitions, programs and services which can be enjoyed by all visitors, including those with disabilities.
The Museum is an affiliate of the NSW Government’s Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care’s Companion Card program. Support persons receive free entry to paid exhibitions and programs when accompanying a Companion Card holder. Visit the Companion Card website for more information.
Entry to the Powerhouse is via Harris St only. Access within the Powerhouse Ultimo is via ramps and an elevator.
