Leave the crowds behind and see in New Year’s Eve within the beautiful grounds of Sydney Observatory. Bring a picnic and take advantage of the Observatory’s panoramic harbour views, the perfect location to enjoy the spectacular fireworks displays. Sydney Observatory’s historic time ball will drop at midnight to herald in the New Year.
This special New Year’s Eve family venue is available exclusively to Powerhouse Museum Members. Tickets are $80 per adult and $50 per child with a family ticket of $210 (limit of six tickets per member). All profits going back into the heritage and collection program at Sydney Observatory. This year we will have access to the Signal Station and Fort Phillip site for the first time.
Sydney Observatory is open during the day from 10am to 1pm.

Tickets are not refundable or transferable
Tickets include access to the site and facilities only.
Ticketholders must BYO blanket and all food. A licensed bar serving drinks at reasonable prices and snacks will be available on site.
BYO alcohol will not be permitted. Please note that The City of Sydney will have security measures in place preventing glass and alcohol to be bought onto Observatory Hill.
Plan to use public transport. There will be no vehicle access up the hill from 8am through to 5am the following day.

Gates open at 7pm and close at 12.30am. Admission strictly by ticket only.
