Construction Commencement

The Powerhouse hosted a celebration on-site this month to mark the delivery of our new flagship museum. Founding partners and donors attended the ceremony, along with members of the Powerhouse Trust, our delivery partners (Infrastructure NSW, Create NSW and Lendlease), architecture firms Moreau Kusunoki and Genton and guests of Honour, Minister for the Arts, The Hon. Benjamin Franklin MLC and Member for Parramatta The Hon. Dr Geoff Lee MP. We were thrilled to be joined by a group of students from the local Arthur Phillip High School.

Current on-site activity includes earthworks, service diversions and laying of foundations, in preparation for building structure works to commence later in 2022. Powerhouse Parramatta is one of the largest structurally and architecturally complex projects currently underway in Australia. The new museum will provide 30,000 square metres of exhibition, event, program, and research space.
