The Fellowship will connect artists with established industry experts and mentors, pass on intergenerational knowledge and create pathways in the music industry. NSW-based early career contemporary musicians, music producers, songwriters and composers were invited to apply, in the second year of a partnership between Create NSW, the Powerhouse Museum and Australian music management and touring company, Astral People.

The Generations Fellowship, valued at $100,000, will support three early career solo artists or groups to carry out six months of professional development in 2021. Three successful artists or groups will be provided with $25,000 each in financial support, and in-kind support in the form of studio space at the Powerhouse Museum (Ultimo) or Museums Discovery Centre (Castle Hill), with industry mentoring and networking facilitated by Astral People throughout each residency.

Olivia Abbott, Tanaya Barat and Blake Rhodes were selected to be the Generations Fellows in 2020. Follow their project developments and updates here.

Congratulations to the successful Generations Fellows for 2021, Indira Elias, Joseph Douglas and Dyan Tai. Read more
