Explore the iconic Sydney Observatory on this family friendly tour.
Designed for families with children aged six and above, this intimate experience will take visitors back in time to discover the rich scientific history of the highest natural point in Sydney Cove.
Guests will explore the historic grounds and learn about archaeology, flag communications and weather measurement before venturing inside the Observatory building. Climbing the building’s narrow staircases, guests will step inside an astronomy dome to see historic and modern telescopes in action.
Bookings essential. All children must be accompanied by a paid adult.
The tour includes around 125 stairs, including areas with no wheelchair access due to narrow and steep staircases across the heritage-listed site. Visitors using a wheelchair or more comfortable with a no stair journey are asked to contact the bookings department on (02) 9217 0222 (Monday to Sunday 10am – 5pm) or book@maas.museum.
