In this short family-friendly workshop participants will learn to code and create their own interactive stories using ScratchJr — an introductory programming language developed by the Scratch Foundation in collaboration with the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.
Young participants will be introduced to coding as they learn how to make their characters move, jump, dance, and sing. They can also customise each character’s colours and add their own voices and sounds.
This family-friendly workshop is designed to encourage conversations between young learners and adults that establish a framework for learning to continue at home.
Recommended for ages 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult, although one adult may accompany multiple children within a small group of family and friends. Bookings essential for all participants (children and adults).
