Dream Wood Treescape
Phoebe Anevski
Annotation
Phoebe expresses a clear and well-defined intent for the project (p 3) and explains what is to be achieved. The motivation (p 4) provides a why and how, while making evident the relationship between the intent, motivation and factors influencing the product development. The identification of a real case (p 6) provides context for the design intent.
Examination Criteria
Documentation of the major project from concept to completion – statement of intent.
Marking Guideline
Clarification of the intent of the major project by explaining clearly what is to be achieved and why.

Joongurrabah – A Bundjalung Story
Harrison Byrnes
Annotation
Analyses and evaluates the relationships between design and design modifications, materials, components and processes in the development of the major project. Harrison has identified appropriate cultural issues to investigate in terms of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property and has taken measures to pay appropriate respect by seeking approval of elders of the Bundjalung nation. The design and modification are clearly directed by the evaluation of several resources, including plaques, texts and personal investigations This research then provided inspiration for the animated characters developed as part of the high-quality product (pp 27–31).
Examination Criteria
Documentation of the major project from concept to completion – appropriate design and/or design modification
Marking Guideline
Analyses and evaluates the relationships between design and design modifications, materials, components and processes in the development of the major project.

Dissociate
Dylan Catterall
Annotation
Dylan shows a clear understanding of the planning of the many aspects of production for this project. Each aspect is clearly delineated within a Gantt chart. Realistic evaluation and revision of that time allocation is shown (pp 46–47) with explanation of the issues that impacted production. The plan shows both the management of the folio (p 46) as well as the product (p 47). The record of production ties in with the timeline (pp 51–67).
Examination Criteria
Documentation of the major project from concept to completion – timeline plan including projected order of production including estimation and evaluation of time allocation. Record of production.
Marking Guideline
Develops applies and evaluates comprehensive and appropriate timeline and finance plans. Clearly describes the management of the project, including a succinct record of the production of project.

Automatic Clay Target Thrower
Patrick Hickey
Annotation
Patrick has analysed existing designs, sketched revisions on grid paper with annotations to explain the design revisions and bring clarity to the design development. The sketches are clear and provide a reference for the CAD modelling of a complex and challenging prototype. Sketches are both 2D and 3D. Each component is then modelled as a 3D entity within a freely available (to education) CAD environment. Sectioned, exploded and dimensioned views demonstrate a high level of skill (pp 33–43). The folio shows these 2D representations of the 3D model then used in the workshop as production working drawings (p 49). Testing of processes is also evident (p 43).
Examination Criteria
Documentation of the major project from concept to completion – development of ideas, sketching and idea generation, prototyping, modelling, and testing, production and working drawings.
Marking Guideline
Demonstrates high level skills in sketching and idea generation, prototyping, modelling and testing, and in developing production and working drawings (as appropriate to the project).

Rhombille Tiling Collectors’ Wine Cabinet
Hophnie Noblett
Annotation
Small images and colour coding are used to describe the management and evaluation of the development of the project. Combined with a time plan as a Gantt chart, the photographs and annotations are dated and are often compared to hand sketches providing a succinct but comprehensive record of production.
Examination Criteria
Documentation of the major project from concept to completion – record of production
Marking Guideline
Clearly describes the management of the project, including a succinct record of the production of the project.
