Powerhouse Ultimo transforms into a hub for game enthusiasts, exploring its archival game collection and bringing together the local gaming community for a night of live performances, gameplay, arcade games and talks.

Women-led gaming collective Empress, known for providing opportunities to women in gaming and e-sports, hosts live gameplay in the Powerhouse theatre. PlayitShady and TheScarletteGamer go head-to-head, playing their favourite recent and archival games from the Powerhouse collection and beyond.
5–9pm Empress talent ProfoundRice leads live esports in the Powerhouse Microcars exhibition. Take the controller and race your friends in Rocket League while surrounded by iconic Messerschmitt, BMW, Heinkel and Lambretta microcars.
5–9pm The Powerhouse cafe transforms into an old school arcade with original arcade games from the Powerhouse collection, including Space Invaders, Pac Man, Xevious and more.

 

MUSIC

6–9pm Twitch piano virtuoso Lara de Wit (aka Lara6683) is known for her piano covers of popular anime, video games, and cinema scores. Taking live requests via her Twitch channel, de Wit’s 3 hour performance or ‘live learns’ will both be in-person and livestreamed.
5–9pm DJ Black Dahlia

 

TALK

5.30–8.30pm Learn and understand the world of video game development. Across four sessions, hear from game developers, designers and games industry professionals about the art of video games.
