Powerhouse Late: Jane Sheldon & Culinary Archive Podcast launch

Duration: 5–9pm
Finished 29 September 2022
Powerhouse Ultimo

Food and sound come together for Powerhouse Late: Jane Sheldon & Culinary Archive Podcast launch.

Jane Sheldon celebrates the ways we construct meaning from the rich world of reflecting surfaces and synchronous vibrations. Throughout the evening you’ll encounter work by Sydney-based artists Jane Sheldon, Mimi Kind, Bree van Reyk, Niki Johnson and Julia Davis activating an array of acoustical possibilities offered by the museum’s spaces.

Situating video works, sonic and visual sculptures and live performances alongside resonant objects from the Powerhouse collection with music by DJ Peter Hollo of FBi Radio’s Utility Fog this night invites you to explore what resonates with you.

Celebrate the launch of the Culinary Archive Podcast. Explore some of the ingredients in the Australian pantry – oysters, grain, brewer’s yeast, coffee, soy and tomatoes – and how they have played a part in scientific innovation and social history.

Enjoy specialty food stalls from AALIA, Maiz Mexican Street Food and BUSH Sydney alongside coffee, beer and tempeh tastings and a discussion about brewing with some of Sydney’s best craft beer brewers.
