Get Kinetic: Rube Goldberg Machine Workshops

Duration: 3 hours
Community Space6 - 12 Years
31 July 2021, 11am – 2pm Powerhouse Community Space

Join artist Nadia Odlum as she guides you through the process of creating a Rube Goldberg machine using sustainable materials.

Held at the Powerhouse Community Space at Parramatta Square, this 45-minute workshop for six to 12-year-olds explores kinetic energy and gravity via chain reactions. It encourages children to learn through play and experimentation in an urban space and observe how different constructions can affect the world around them.

This workshop is run by Powerhouse Museum in partnership with Nadia Odlum. Inspired by movement, patterns and forms within the built environment, her playful and immersive works span sculpture, drawing, painting, installation and performance collaborations.

Workshops start at 11am, 12 noon and 1pm and are bookable on arrival.

Don’t have time for a full session? Drop in for some fun STEM activities. Experiment and problem-solve by creating a digital Rube Goldberg machine on an iPad.
