David Pearson is an acclaimed British book designer best known for playing a key role in revolutionising and re-popularising Penguin Books through projects such as the multi-million selling Great Ideas series, Penguin by Design and the Popular Classic series. To quote the Guardian, ‘Pearson made the humble paperback covetable again’.
After working at Penguin Books in London as a designer and later, cover designer, in 2007 Pearson established his own design studio, Type as Image, where he has worked on leading design projects including consulting on Wes Anderson’s 2014 film, Grand Budapest Hotel. Pearson was recently named by specialist British publisher, Debrett’s, as one of Britain’s ‘500 Most Influential People’.
