Join Powerhouse senior curator Roger Leong for an insightful webinar that examines the iconic work of fashion designer Carla Zampatti, focusing on the designer’s garments currently on display in the Powerhouse exhibition Zampatti Powerhouse.
Zampatti Powerhouse is the first retrospective exhibition of this renowned Australian designer, business leader, philanthropist and mentor. Encapsulating Zampatti’s trailblazing career from the establishment of her business to her most recent work, the exhibition draws on over five decades of material.
Roger Leong has curated exhibitions, published and lectured on numerous areas relating to fashionable dress from the 19th century to the present. He has extensive research interests that include Regency dress, Art Deco style, contemporary millinery and footwear including sneakers, Japanese fashion, 1980s power-dressing, men’s dress, prestige dressmakers and ready-to-wear designers in Australia, to name just a few.
This webinar is designed for regional tertiary students and staff and volunteers of museums and the collecting sector. A 30-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute Q+A session.
