The Museums Discovery Centre has partnered with Shopfront Theatre for Young People to deliver this film-making workshop, recommended for participants 9–12 years.
Participants will get an introduction to a range of film-making skills and have plenty of fun in the process. Topics covered will include camera operation, developing ideas for the screen, video editing, and sound design for film.
Facilitators will be David Molloy and Rowan Yeomans from the Shopfront Theatre for Young People, which has been operating in south Sydney since the 1970s and is the only co-operative youth theatre company in Australia. Its education program has a strong focus on developing young people’s creativity, confidence, and communication skills.
This workshop is free, but bookings are essential as places are limited.
Parental supervision is not required for this program. Parents and guardians are welcome to explore the Museums Discovery Centre while the workshop is being held. Entry to the Museum is free.
