The MAAS Centre for STEAM spearheads a number of public events and festivals to encourage lifelong learning, to foster positive attitudes toward science, and to develop a culture where science is an accessible, relevant and enjoyable part of everyday life.
The annual Sydney Science and Sydney Design Festivals, along with the Sydney Mini Maker Faire, bring together government, business, public and academic institutions to provide a coherent approach to engaging with the sciences through offerings for multiple demographics and age groups. Additional offerings for hobbyists and seasoned makers alike provide a valuable platform to highlight innovation in our community while free after-hours events let young professionals dive into the Museum without kids in sight.
